PLEASE NOTE: This plugin is outdated. The SWF format is no longer played by any current browser, so there is no reason to use it in a new project. It is kept available and tested for existing installations that still manage SWF files in their media library.
WordPress does not allow to upload .swf files out of the box. This plugin adds SWF support to the media uploader.

How it works:
- Upload the Plugin

Installation
Use WordPress’ Add New Plugin feature, searching ”Add SWF Support for Media Uploader| inventivo”, or download the archive and:
- Unzip the archive on your computer
- Upload
inventivo-addswfsupportdirectory to the/wp-content/plugins/directory - Activate the plugin through the ’Plugins’ menu in WordPress

1.0.4 Tested with WordPress 7.1 on PHP 7.4, 8.3 and 8.4, and marked as outdated because SWF is no longer played by any current browser. Removed an undefined variable that produced a warning every time the upload dialog was opened. Dismissing the admin notice now requires a valid nonce, which closes a request forgery gap without locking out editors and authors. The admin notice now links to a page that exists again, and its stylesheet uses a plugin specific handle so it no longer collides with our other plugins.
