Civic Cookie Control Premium integrates the premium version of Cookie Control with WordPress.
Cookie Control Premium is a consent management platform (CMP) built for teams who want to be compliant without spending time on manual setup and configuration. It scans your site to discover what cookies and scripts are active, generates a ready-to-deploy consent banner through a guided wizard, and keeps everything up to date as your site changes with regular, scheduled audits.
The end result for your visitors is a familiar consent banner — they choose which categories of cookies to accept or decline, and third-party scripts are blocked or released accordingly. The difference is how little work is required from you to set it up and maintain it.
The plugin provides the following settings:
- API Key
- Domain Key (DK)
- Allow Scripts (Yes/No) — when set to Yes, the Cookie Control script is loaded with the
?scripts=allowquery parameter.

Installation
- Upload the
civic-cookie-control-premiumfolder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory. - Activate the plugin through the ’Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- Navigate to the Cookie Control Premium settings page.
- Enter your API Key and Domain Key and save.

Where do I get my API Key and Domain Key?

Your API Key and Domain Key are provided when you sign up for a Cookie Control Premium licence at cookiecontrol.com. See the Premium documentation for details.

No. The two consent scripts must not run at the same time. If Civic Cookie Control 8 is active, Cookie Control Premium will not load its widget on the front-end and will show a conflict notice in the admin until you deactivate Civic Cookie Control 8.

If you need to add custom JavaScript to your WordPress website that runs when a user accepts or revokes consent to a category, you can subscribe to consent change events using window.CookieControl.onConsentChange().
