Native Gallery Blocks for WordPress
FolioBlocks is a native WordPress gallery plugin for building responsive image galleries, video galleries, portfolio layouts, and comparison blocks directly in the Block Editor. Installation
Install from WordPress
The easiest way to install FolioBlocks is by visiting your Plugins > Add New menu. Search for ”FolioBlocks” and install the first result you see there.

We needed a fast and mobile-friendly gallery plugin for our video portfolio. We researched several different plugins but quickly found out that many gallery plugins focus more on image/photo gallery features and any video options are more of an afterthought (ie, limited features, buggy, not optimized for mobile, etc).
FolioBlocks boasts a whole suite of image gallery options, but unlike other plugins we’ve tried, their video gallery block feels just as well-developed and, most importantly, works great on mobile. We upgraded to pro for the video gallery filter tags, which are an incredibly useful feature, especially for large video galleries.
The FolioBlocks team was also incredibly helpful and responsive to a question we had about the built-in lightbox. Fantastic customer support.
Overall, we highly recommend FolioBlocks.

I tried and tested loads of gallery plugins for a recent project, and this is by far the best and easiest to use. The free version would be fine for 90% of projects, but I specifically needed the functionality of the Modular Gallery Block in the paid-for version – very happy and relieved to have found it! Received a rapid response when I contacted them too.

I tested this plugin in beta and was impressed both by how well–and intuitively–it worked ”out of the box” and by how responsive its developer was when I had questions. Highly recommend.

Gallery plugins historically have been annoying for me to use, and block-based ones, especially so. But FolioBlocks was fun to use. I love that so many different types of galleries can be chosen (masonry, grid, etc), it has the option to use its built-in lightbox, and just the simplicity of it all was sweet. And responsive on top of it! I’m definitely a fan now.

Folio Blocks has completely transformed how I showcase images on my WordPress site. Setup was quick, and block-based workflow feels natural – drop in a gallery, choose from grid or masonry styles, tweak spacing and captions. Everything is responsive out of the box, so my galleries look sharp on phones, tablets, and 4K screens. It has built‑in lightbox and lazy loading; doesn’t bloat the page. Hard to design something that doesn’t look great.Unlike many gallery plugins, Folio Blocks is lightweight and uncluttered—no bloat, just the tools you actually need. If you’re a photographer, designer, or blogger who cares about performance and polish, Folio Blocks is the gallery solution.
